All Around

8" X 8" oil on Raymar panel

When first reading about the latest Daily Paint Works challenge I thought I would probably sit this one out. The challenge was to paint something white on pattern.  I tend to get tight when doing patterns, but I went for it anyway.  It was about getting the values to read correctly on the white that reflected all the colors around it. It was another good challenge.
The painting is slightly different in color even with adjustments made in Photoshop.

  1. You got it right, Dana! I love the design aspect of this painting. The two orange "circles" and the uniting smoky lavender inside the square bowl. Really nice. I'd love to see you paint more patterns!

    Beau travail, bisous.
