Home

8" X 10" oil on panel

With "HOME" being the theme, I did this painting for the Daily Paint Works challenge to help victims of the tragedies in Japan.  All posted paintings are being auctioned to support varying charities.  Click here to bid on this or any of the other available paintings.
Home for me means the familiar faces, familiar spaces and familiar things of my surroundings. In what is an ordinary grouping of objects, for me there is familiarity to each of them.  My wish for all the refugees of the tragedies is that they soon have a place to call home again amid their familiar.

  1. ooo....I love the painting and the concept behind this. Such a sweetie contributing to the challenge. I was also admiring your rosehips painting. I am still studying how you got those delicate little thorny leaves! Awesome.

  6. You have a lot going on in this painting. What looks the most challenging to me is the foreshortening, especially of the spoon as it is going at a different angle from the knife and fork. You handled it very well.
