Alley Reflections

8"x 8" oil on linen board

I'm not yet sure that this painting is finished but I know it is very close.  In all honestly this one was very difficult for me.  It was a puzzle of sorts getting all the pieces to fit but the hardest part was making the water puddles read...at least I hope they read.

  3. This really is an amazing painting. Did you draw the design on the canvas before you started painting, because your proportions are fantastic?

    1. Thanks Jerry! I draw the design on in paint in large shapes first using the negative shapes to help me with proportion, then breaking the larger shapes into smaller shapes kind of like a puzzle.

  4. I think the composition is great. It's an interesting abstract with lots of pieces that all work! (I like it as a realistic alley, too!)
