Ninety Two...

12"x9" oil on board

Hula hooping was an activity I really enjoyed as a child.  Not sure that I could do it for very long now but it might be fun to give it a go!

This was done for the latest DPW challenge which was to "make it move".  Sometimes when painting the figure I will take the pose in order to understand where the weight of the figure is.  In this case I pretended to be hula hooping in order to see how the body moves...glad there aren't any cameras in my studio!!

  1. You definitely "made it move." I loved to hula hoop once-upon-a-time. This brings back very nice memories. Your painting's great.

  3. I've tried this several times as an adult. I just can't do it any longer. A wonderful piece with memories of childhood.

  5. Fun painting! You made me laugh--I too used to be good at that as a kid. Not so much anymore!
