Some little girl is missing her shoes. I found these while I was on a walk just sitting on a wall with no child or parent in sight. As cute as they were I had to have a photo, but left them there in the event they are missed. Happy 4th everyone!
This is such a sweet painting. The color is rich and the brushstrokes beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteOh, they're probably my daughter's! She liked to look at her shoes more than wear them! Seriously, she's 25 now, so probably not! Love these, though.
ReplyDeleteLove this one Dana. They look like my niece's shoes.
ReplyDeleteSweet : ) I love the warm whites on the sandals.
ReplyDeleteReally cute and, of course, nicely painted. Love the color, the composition.. and the subject!!
ReplyDeleteLittle paintings like this just make me feel happy.
Love it.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute, Dana. Great commentary.
ReplyDeletethese reminded me of my girls' childhoods. they wore shoes just like these...they are very British nursery looking.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted.
I had a boy, I don't relate particularly to little girls clothing, but I just love this painting! The loose capture of these sweet little shoes and the soft violet shadow against the claret colored background is so appealing. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThese are oh so dear. Just tugs at my heart. Beautifully painted with sensitivity in every stroke.
ReplyDeleteYour shadows and buttery paint are just perfect for this unique painting. Hope they found their way home!
ReplyDeleteOh, Dana...this is adorable. Love it!
ReplyDeleteEverything about this post made me smile. Just too cute and I love that you were inspired to paint them. Very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet painting Dana. I hope these cute little sandals make it back to their owner...

These are adorable! Hope you had a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteOh, Dana, I absolutely love these sweet little shoes! You've painted them beautifully. I love that warm red terra cotta next to the creamy whites. Great painting!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet painting, brings all kinds of wonderful images of the owner to mind.
ReplyDeleteSweet! What a perfect summer painting. My daughter had shoes like these a few years ago. She hated them. It took too much trouble to buckle and un-buckle as far as she was concerned. They sure were cute on her, though...
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good Independence Day.

Awww...now this is one heartwarming painting, Dana. Interesting how something as mundane as shoes can touch the heart. You are a true artist when you have the ability to do that with your pieces. ('Course, not that that was ever in doubt, but hopefully you know what I mean...) I wonder if mom/dad came back for the shoes? I love these!
ReplyDeleteThis has to make you smile. Unless you are the mom of the little girl who lost them.
ReplyDeleteJust love the way you painted this. So much feeling.
What a fabulous painting Dana...and that the scene was stumbled upon and not contrived in the studio makes it all the more sweet. How fortunate for you!
ReplyDeletegreat work Dana. Love how you used the paint on these shoes.
ReplyDeleteHi Dana, I have a lot of time following the blog, great work, great painter.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Beautiful handling of the shoes, Dana. Hope you had a great 4th.
ReplyDeleteI like the pattern of the shoe toes and how the shadow of the vegetation seems to echo that pattern
ReplyDeleteWonderful still life, Dana. I especially like the values and composition. The title rocks, too.
