Morning Color

12" x 9" oil on board

I really can't believe it has been more than a month since I have posted on this blog.  I am quite sure that it has never been so long between posts since I first started blogging regularly in 2009.
I have continued to paint, but life events (all good) and a general desire to grow as an artist without thought of posting/attempts at selling has given me the freedom to experiment with my style, to study, and to make a lot of mistakes.  Again, it's all good.
Thank you for hanging in there with me.

This painting is available through Chemer's Gallery.

  1. You've managed to capture the morning light perfectly, and this painting also has the intensity of a pastel. Beautiful.

  3. If this is an example of your work during your "time off," it was definitely time well spent. Beautiful light, beautiful clarity of color and I love the shadow and the reflected light on the vase.

  4. This is gorgeous Dana. The light is so powerful. Taking a break is a good idea from time to time to refresh and recharge.
