This paint sketch was done from a reference photo supplied by Lee Brown's blog, A Day Not Wasted. Though it was November's challenge, Lee kindly allowed me to use it in February!
I'm not sure if I have painted horses before but like every other painting it's about finding the lights, darks and color shapes. The foal was a little challenging only because it kept looking like a Great Dane...ha!
He certainly lost any doggy demeanor he may have possessed. He looks ready to bounce forth and seems as fresh and new as spring itself.
